By Lisa Morefield, staff writer
Join the growing trend this June 18, 2016! Enjoy a pairing of upcoming wineries and art surrounded by Grove City’s Town Center’s unique spin of hot spots and culture. The festival, now in its sixth year, repeatedly draws 30,000 wine and art enthusiasts from all over Ohio and beyond. Coverage in magazines such as Columbus Monthly, Columbus Parent, and City Scene Magazine makes this Wine and Arts Festival a desirable event for the best of the 209 Ohio wineries to offer samples of their best vintages. Social media also reports the event. Experience a large variety of wines and small plates in one location, while finding perfect fine art adornments for their homes. In some cases, wine tasters can even create art.
Over twenty wineries are expected to present their latest creations. In addition to a variety of Ohio vineyards and wineries, guests can enjoy Grove City Town Center’s own Plum Run Winery.
Some of the past participants indicate the range of this event. The Winery at Versailles, Al-Bi Winery, Barrel Run Crossing Winery and Vineyard, Buckeye Winery, Camelot Cellars, Chateau Tebeau Winery, Hanover Winery, It’s Your Winery, Kennedy Vineyard, M Cellars, Maize Valley, Old Mason Winery and Vineyard Inc, Rockside Winery and Vineyards, Signature Wines, Soine Vineyards, The Winery at Wolf Creek, Troutman Vineyards and Winery, Wishmaker House Bed and Breakfast, and Wyandotte Winery. Each offers a singular focus or specialty at the winery. Some develop ice wines. Some wineries, at their location, provide guests opportunities to make their own bottles of wine complete with their own label.
Entertainment perfectly accompanies wine and small plates. Performing at the George Edge Music Pavilion are local Joanna Lower, Tony Leibold, Joey and Jessica, The Boondogglers, and The Digs.
Sampling and shopping develops an appetite! Delicious meals are plentiful in the town center. Select from the satisfying comfort food of Sue Terre’s Food Affair to Oysters on the half shell from En Place food truck, and everything in between.
Tickets are available the day of the event and come in bundles of 8 with an event glass for only $20. Usually, each sample runs only one ticket. The glass only, without samples is three tickets. After the initial purchase, additional tickets are available at 3 for $5. The event runs in the heart of Grove City’s historical area from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
